December Blog Challenge

December is here and the countdown is on for all those who rush to be ready in time for the holidays!  For me, that means lots of homemade crafty things for gifts and BAKING!  My daughter is so excited to help me make about a dozen different kinds of cookies.  Our challenge this month will be like a recipe in that your layout needs to have the following "ingredients" and we'll do it in a "12 Days of Christmas" kind of way!  WOOT~!  Here is what you'll need:

At least: (meaning you must have at least the number shown, but you CAN choose to add more)
*12 leaves
*11 flowers
*10 buttons
*9 journal strips
*8 fasteners (tape, stitching, staples, photo prongs, screws, etc.) - You can mix/match,  you don't have to have all 8 be one thing unless you want to.
*7 items in ONE cluster (paint splats, strings, leaves, bows, flowers, buttons, brads, etc.)  They don't have to be 7 different items, some can repeat (leaves, flowers, etc.)
*6 ribbons (same or different, 12" or cut pieces)
*5 patterned papers (full size/large sheets or paper strips/cut pieces all count)
*4 solid papers (full size/large sheets or paper strips/cut pieces all count)
*3 photos
*2 journal cards
*1 amazing title!

Here is my sample layout using The List by Scrapyrus Designs.  I did pull a few items from Spring Break (alpha & flower), I Made This (alpha), and the staple is from A World At My Fingers.  I have lots of things layered like the leaves so even though you can't see 12 individual leaves on my page, they are there!  You would see them in my PS layered file!  LOL! =)

November Blog Challenge

Hello there, Stefanie here with a new month's challenge. Is it just me that can't believe that it's NOVEMBER already? I am keeping the challenge for this month quite simple, just because the thought of a difficult challenge is overwhelming.

I love using a mix of colour and black and white photos on my layouts. Sometimes the back grounds within the photo can be eye catching or even jarring, yet changing the photo to black and white allows the object of the photo to take the center stage. Sometimes our skin may be a little ruddy (me) or spotty (my daughter) so black and white hides these imperfections too.

This challenge leads on from Lea's challenge last month to create a monochromatic layout. This month we would love to see at least one black and white photo included on your page.

October blog challenge

October is finally here! Today I'm bringing you a new challenge and I hope lots of you will participate. We haven't done this challenge in a while. I'd love to see some monochromatic pages using Scrapyrus Designs' products. I'm not going to give you a specific color though. Pick one color that inspires you and create a layout with your pick as a main color. There can be some touches of neutral though but when you see the layout only one color should stand out.

Here is my layout so you can see what it looks like. It's obviously very yellow!

We're back with another monthly challenge! It is so easy to play!  All you need to do is read what the challenge is, complete your layout following the rules and post your link in the comments below!  You increase your chances of winning by submitting more than 1 layout! =)  I know summer has been busy, but we didn't have ANY submissions in August for the last challenge....are you kicking yourself...."oh if only I had just played I would have a FREE KIT right now!"  LOL!  Ok, let's get those entry layouts turned in now!  Kids are going back to school and we need some scrap therapy, right?!  Here we go . . .

Well, this year is really rushing by, but I trust that you are enjoying the last month or so of Summer?

We are back with another blog challenge to help boost your creativity and add another finished layout to your album!

I'm Lisa and I'm in the US. Many schools across our nation are getting ready to go on summer vacation.  That means parents are coming up with all kinds of activities to keep kids busy and hopefully get to spend more family time together.  Your challenge this month is to create a layout featuring something your family does while on vacation or break time from school.  Some of you may have year round schools and some may still be in session so your pictures don't have to be from this year!! =)

I love big picture pages and after seeing Petra's stunning heron page a little while ago, I knew the December challenge was going to be one with a big picture. So here we go ...

The rules:

• Follow the recipe below to create a beautiful page.
• Layouts should be made with 100% Scrapyrus Designs products.
• Freebies are allowed.
• You are welcome to submit more than 1 layout. Each page will give you a chance to win.

This is the recipe:

1. Use one big photo. It should cover at least half of your page surface.
2. You can use a background paper but you don't have to.
3. You have to include one paper piece but it can't be square or rectangular.
4. Scrapyrus Designs creates amazing borders, so let's include two of those.
5. I also want to see a bit of stitching on your page
6. and some sort of stamp.
7. You are allowed to use a cluster to cover ingredient nr 5 and 6.
8. I also want the see another type of fastener : tape, staple, etc. but no other stitching
9. Include at least 3 leaves
10. at least 5 flowers
11. at least one button
12. and 1 scatter.

Finish your page of with a title, journaling and/or date if you want.
